BOISE, ID (KBOI) — A notice of suspension from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare obtained by CBS 2 news says workers didn't realize a 3-year old child was missing until an hour later when they were back at the day care.
The child was found unattended at Lakeview Park in Nampa by a good samaritan who immediately contacted police.
Idaho Department of Health and Welfare sent a notice of suspension to operators of the facility on Tuesday, saying they failed to report the child was missing from it's day care facility.
Day cares must report any incident involving suspected neglect or abuse of a child within 24 hours.
The Little Angel's Day Care owner is currently facing a criminal investigation, the outcome will tell if the owner is able to appeal this suspension in the next 28 days.
The Department of Health and Welfare tells CBS 2 News that the Little Angels Day Care had 19 families and 35 children who received subsidized care.
Health and welfare is now working with those families to find other options for care.
The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says they have many resources for helping parents find the right care for their children, you can find out more by clicking HERE.
